Title: HOTHEAD - Oil on Canvas (24" x 30")

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener and is used by millions of people in their misguided belief that it controls weight gain. The truth is that aspartame contains dangerous excitotoxins that excite the neural cells of the brain to death. Unfortunately the large majority of the neural cells are killed before any symptom of an illness becomes apparent.

Aspartame accounts for more than 75 percent of adverse reactions to food additives. Many are very serious, including death. There are approximately 90 different symptoms associated with the use of aspartame; two-thirds are associated with neurological and behavioral problems, the rest are gastrointestinal.

These symptoms include: headaches, seizures, numbness, muscle spasms, depression, fatigue increased heart rate and palpitation, insomnia, vision problems, memory and hearing loss, breathing problems, anxiety, slurred speech, joint pain, tinnitus, vertigo and more.

Serious and chronic illnesses triggered by consuming aspartame include brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, mental retardation, lymphoma, hormonal problems, birth defectsand fibromyalgia. It has also been implicated in worsening the complications of diabetes. These risks are increased when aspartame is ingested by infants, children, pregnant women, the elderlyand people with chronic illnesses. To add insult to injury, it does not control weight but puts you at risk for weight gain due to an increase in appetite.

There are many brand names for aspartame and it can be found in over 6,000 products – primarily in those claiming to be sugar-free and having low to zero calories.

It is found in a broad range of products like instant breakfasts, prescription and over-the-counter drugs, supplements, breath mints, cereals, sugar-free drinks, chewing gum, tabletop sweeteners, cocoa mixes, instant tea and coffee beverages, gelatin desserts, baked goods fillings, topping mixes, juice beverages, wine coolers, laxatives, yogurt, milk drinks and more. Aspartame in liquid form, like in diet sodas, is absorbed more quickly.

This sugar substitute has a suspicious history of approval based on political and financial pressure. There is much evidence that questions its benefits, and more importantly its safety due to the many reported serious illnesses associated with its use.

This is not big news in the mainstream media because the powerful chemical and pharmaceutical companies that brought us aspartame, control the narrative. They funded false studies and provided these to the scientific community. Through bribes, they also manipulated governments and their agencies.

Unfortunately, people are unable to see the connection between the long-term consumption of foods containing aspartame and illness.

This is because of concealed information about its many health dangers.

Aspartame was approved in the US by the FDA for consumption in 1992. Suspiciously, stevia, was banned the previous year. Stevia is a naturally a low-calorie plant-based sweetener. Was it banned in order to remove any competition prior to the introduction of aspartame? Today, stevia can only be sold as a dietary supplement.

Aspartame accounts for more than 80% percent of food complaints. But after almost 30 years in the food chain, it has still not been removed. The truth about the toxicity of aspartame and its many serious health-related problems has been suppressed. It is therefore difficult for doctors to accurately diagnose an illness caused by its consumption and as a consequence, the remedies will not be helpful.

Michael J. Fox was an avid consumer and advertiser of a popular diet coke. Unfortunately he also became a victim of the debilitating effect aspartame has when it is used in diet sodas; he suffers from Parkinson’s

disease. The Michael J. Fox Foundation was created in order to do research and studies to find a cure. Success, however, remains elusive because they are not looking in the right place.

"Nothing else has the same effect on your brain as a diet coke. This is because there is a deadly combination of aspartame and caffeine, and together they create a very unique blend of excitotoxin that kills off brain cells."

Dr. Christiane Northrup
